πŸ” Review

If Dragon’s Dogma 2 had launched in 2010, it’d be a cult classic. In 2024, it’s something else entirely: a chaotic, unfiltered, system-driven RPG that refuses to hold your hand — and somehow, it works.

You play as the Arisen, a chosen hero in a sprawling high-fantasy world. The game’s signature feature is the Pawn system: custom AI companions you design and share online. They learn from player behavior, assist in combat, and even help navigate quests. It’s weirdly immersive, especially when your Pawn comes back quoting advice they “learned” while visiting another player’s world.

The combat is where the game shines. It’s fast, brutal, and strategic. Climb onto a cyclops’ back, leap off with a downward sword strike, and immediately get ambushed by bandits—it’s that kind of game. You never really feel safe, and that’s refreshing.

But it’s not all roses. The game has:

  • No traditional fast travel (on purpose)
  • Some jank in quest scripting
  • A steep learning curve for new players

And yet, there’s a charm to its stubbornness. It’s a game that respects your time and intelligence — and punishes you for carelessness.

πŸ”š Final Verdict

8.7/10 – Dragon’s Dogma 2 is messy but magical. A rare game that dares to challenge and reward you in equal measure.
